Pre-Clinical Research Services, (PCRS), is a pre-clinical contract research organization. Founding member, Don Maul, DVM, MS, ACLAM, and staff have provided contract pre-clinical testing services for the pharmaceutical and medical/surgical device industries for over 15 years. They operate out of a 22,000 sq. ft. vivarium, which includes state-of-the-art surgical suites with a GE OEC 9900 Digital Fluoroscopy unit.
Pre-clinical services include:
- PK studies in dog, pig, rabbit and rodent (including direct duodenal dosing in dogs and rats; and pig dermal absorption PK)
- FDA-GLP compliant experimental surgery (surgical device development, selective vessel/organ catheterization, angiography and stent placement, dog osteoarthritis, biomaterial implants, orthopedic, and cardiovascular models)
- Evaluation of the dog osteoarthritis model, enhanced by gait analysis using a Kistler force plate along with imaging capabilities including MRI, CT scan and digital X-ray imaging
- Pig DTH dermal hypersensitivity model
- Ocular studies in dogs, rabbits and rats
- Toxicology

Conference facilities are available for groups of up to 50 people for hosting surgeon training programs.
